My Kuching Blanket

This is a year-long (2015) project and its 2/3 done.

I hope, by Christmas, it will be done and ready for my new year Queen Bed. Yes, i'm going to get a good mattress and bed early next year. my back needs good support. ;)

The colours and pattern of this blanket are intended to be this way, to remind me of the famous 'kek lapis Sarawak'. Thus, the blankie will be called  'my Kuching Blanket'.

Its Cold and rainy here in Kuching. Monsoon wet season. I love year end in Borneo. Christmas, Holidays, End of the year mean more festive time, good food and time to be with friends and family.

I forgot to get the green yarn in KL last week. Almost 100 squares! i'm 1/4 done with the project. and i'm happy with the progress.

Next weekly progress will be thursday, I'll be away friday and the whole of next week. super excited for the little walkaway!

i must have deleted my progress picture #5 in my phone, i couldnt find it. so, here's my progress picture for #6. and after some consideration and more measuring, i've decided, larger is better, so, i'm making this blanket a 400 granny squares blanket. 

the new measurement would fit a queen size bed, hopefully. 20 X 20 granny sq. and I'm confident to finish this project by end of June. by the end of this semester, and I'm already exited about my new cross stitch project!

i will be away again for the rest of the week. I'll post week #7 progress by Monday. I'm out of moss green yarns.

yes! i managed to joint 14 more squares last weekend to the large blanket project. i forgot to take picture of the current blanket (i'll furnish picture later this afternoon)

I bought another 5 yarns for the project, making it 20 yarns bought so far (RM27 +RM10 = RM37)

i will put the cost estimation for materials (including all yarns taken from my yarns box) after i completed the project. I'm hoping (and working hard) to finish this project by this semester (end of june) so i can start on a cross stitch project. huhu!

I was supposed to post this last week. but, friday was holiday for Chinese New Year. so, here goes.

I will be away again this week, my #5 update will be next monday. the above yarn's colours will be featured. I am happy because its february and my project is progressing well.

so, this is the progress up until last week. as i mentioned in the previous post, i was away the whole of last week. i did buy some yarns in KL, but my tight budget make me purchase only 3 colours (5 small bundles each). i'll post that yarns purchase in my next post, which will be this coming friday. yes, i know, its week #4 already!

the colours of my blanket gets merrier, and i like it. ;)

Here's my progress for week #2 into crocheted blanket. attached 28, i have some more squares in the yarns box, but have no time to attach it, so, i'll bring those forward for next week's progress.

I'll be away for a job-related-workshop in KL next week. yarns shopping (buying more crazy colours:orange, green, gray, blue and yellow) but less time to crochet.

About 350 more to go before 31 dec 2014. Next week update will be done monday, 27 jan 2014. ;)
